Vacations can be a great way to relieve stress which leads to improved body composition and performance over the long term. However without the right mindset vacations can turn into an eating and drinking free for all that can erase weeks or even months’ worth of your hard work. We sought out a hotel with plenty of outdoor activities nearby, a functional gym, restaurants offering great food choices and finally a full kitchen.

Use Upcoming Vacations as a Source of Motivation.

When you wake up and do not feel like working out and consider making a bad food choice- what keeps you on track? A strong commitment to your goals drives consistency even when your circumstances take a turn for the worse. Post reminders of your goals in visible spots that you will see in the morning and at night.

Posting prior vacation photos, current pictures of your condition or other are very helpful to boost daily motivation. I have lost approx. 10 pounds in no time ( 1 month ) and most of it was body fat . I did some research beforehand and identified the best hotel based on consumer reviews and other online research. Having a kitchen allows for cooking at least some of your meals. Grocery stores were nearby and one well planned visit can take care of your shopping needs for the entire week. Limiting restaurant meals to 1-2 per day will limit the exposure to possible bad food choices. Fewer meals out also means less expense and waiting to be seated at crowded restaurants during peak vacation seasons.

Anyone traveling with kids knows firsthand that feeding them in the room can be much easier than restaurants depending on their ages. Room service is also an option with plenty of space to eat inside the room.

Use Low Stress Time to Train Hard

Training first thing in the morning with 30 minute 50 caliber routines enabled me to complete 4 weight training sessions during the 7 day trip. Two other mornings included intervals running sprints on the sandy beach. One morning was used for a bike ride. I prefer training first thing in the morning before daily family activities begin to ensure the sessions are well executed. First thing when I wake up I consumed 4 GCX10 , 4 scoops of 100% MR and 4 scoops of Muscle Synthesis Powder 20 minutes before taking the stairs down to the gym on the first floor. Training first thing in the morning requires a more extensive warm up for the joints and nervous system. The warm temperatures are certainly helpful in this regard so I did some dynamic warm up movements outside.*

I structured the workout so that the equipment layout would work in my favor without anyone else getting in the way. It seems that the afternoons are much busier for resort gyms so keep this mind. The 50 caliber training session included 4 exercises within a giant set and I kept the rest periods very short to maximize fat burning hormone release and to improve density factors. The 100% MR and Muscle Synthesis were ready to go in a shaker up to be used immediately post training. I added cold water and was all set to improve my recovery by drink the combo within 20 minutes.*

Personally while traveling my stress levels are ¼ of the normal levels which allows for high rates of performance. Maintaining a normal training session while on vacation is very important as the sessions increase rates of fat burning while most people will inevitably will eat more than usual while traveling. Weight training and interval sprint sessions keep energy levels high and crush cravings at a time when bad food choices may be more available than usual.*

I discovered that week before leaving for a trip is the best time to take a brake from the gym as there are many projects to finish up before leaving town.

Beach Boot Camps are very common. Ask your hotel concierge or do some research online before your trip so you can do some training that differs from what you normally do at home.

Great food choices are available if you seek them out. Most restaurants are more than happy to make substitutions such as swapping bread for vegetables, baked potatoes instead of French fries etc. I always advise my clients to avoid bad items on their plate, if they are not present, they cannot be eaten!
