The Band Glute Ham Raise allow trainees to adjust the assistance from the band to accommodate the fatigue curve. Explosive hamstring movements can translate very well to improved running speed as well as athletic performance.

Dr. Eric Serrano MD explains how to adjust the hand position on the bands for individual client needs. The farther the band is in front, the more assistance is gained. Bring the band to a higher position behind the head will provide less assistance. Gradually reduce the assistance gained by the band by altering the hand positions to place more tension on the hamstrings.

Feet Positions

Include padding under the knees for comfort. Press the bottom of the toes against the post for proper traction. A difference in recruitment will be felt based on the position of the feet against the post. Some clients will be stronger with the entire foot or the toes against the post. This may identify an area of weakness to be addressed by certain positions and protocols.
