Dr. Stout possesses an impressive background of education and
experience in sports nutrition, is one of only a few experts in
this relatively new field and has co-authored the first textbook
on sports supplements. He has served as a consultant on product
development for some of the nation’s largest sports supplement
manufacturers including GNC, MET-Rx® and Worldwide Sport®
Nutrition.
Dr. Stout served as an Assistant Professor of Exercise Science
at Creighton University. Furthermore, he has published in
several of the most highly respected peer-reviewed research
journals including Medicine and Science in Sport and Exercise
and Journal of Strength and ConditioningResearch. Recently he
was awarded the “Junior Sports Scientist of the year award”
by the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
Dr. Stout is currently the Director of Sports Science of
Nutricia USA and has been intimately involved in the developed
of GNC’s Pro Performance - Elite Series line of sports
nutrition products (www.gncproperformance.com).
The Nutricia USA team represents the product development,
manufacturing, logistics and financial functions of Royal Numico’s
North American companies (GNC, Rexall Sundown and Unicity
Network).
He received his Ph.D. in Exercise Physiology from the University
of Nebraska and is a Fellow of the American College of Sports
Medicine.
Dr. Stout joined Nutricia USA in 2000 and is responsible for the
direction of scientific information and research efforts of
Nutricia’s Sport Supplement businesses, which encompasses GNC,
MET-Rx® and Worldwide Sport® Nutrition.
