Dr. Serrano why is it so hard to lose body fat?

Scott people are taking a backwards approach to fat loss, they count calories and exercise until they drop but never consider what is going on behind the scenes.  Food choices, genetics, exercise and HORMONES will determine if you lose body fat, how much and in what time frame.  Think of hormones as the directors inside the body, I do not want to get too complicated here, but consider that the body has a hormonal reaction to everything you do and you must send the right signals if you want the body to reduce stored fat. 

Wait a minute I want to add to that, hormones will also dictate how much body fat you can keep off, if you starve yourself into fat loss- the body will fight for survival by slowing down metabolism and increasing all fat storage mechanisms to preserve you through a famine.   We are genetically identical to what we were over a 100,000 years ago and back them we were concerned with survival and not looking good.  As a result a majority of people will suffer from rebound meaning they can lose body fat, but end up gaining it back and then some following a diet.

Dr. Serrano how is your approach to creating a supplement different than other designers?

I take a different approach to medicine and I do the same when creating a supplement.  I treat not only the problem, but also the cause.  When a patient comes in with knee pain obviously caused by a dysfunction with their walking pattern I not only treat the knee but also aim to fix the foot problem as well so that the patient has a long term solution.  The same pattern holds true for fat loss, yes I can create an effective fat loss plan for just about any person that walks into my office, but I want the patient to keep the weight off for good and to do this you must addresses the causes of excess body fat accumulation.

Dr. Serrano what did you design the new Fat Reduce product to do?

Can you elaborate on the three road blocks doc?

Yes poor insulin sensitivity means the body over secretes insulin which is a fat storage hormone; logic would tell you that a reduction of circulating insulin will enable the body to more readily reduce body fat.  Furthermore intense cravings and hunger are related to this same hormonal problem.  Blood sugar levels run wild when insulin sensitivity is out of whack and as a result people are eating to manipulate their energy levels.  Unfortunately the items that people crave at this point are usually high in sugar which contributes to the problem.

People are severely overstressed in this society for a variety of reasons and I became aware of this problem several years ago as it relates to fat loss when patients would use a good diet and training program without earning any result.  Stress was the hidden culprit for failure in more than half of the cases.  Fat Reduce has special ingredients to fight against the fat storing impact of stress.  Cortisol is a stress hormone which activates fat storage receptors and contributes to over production of insulin, the combination of these two factors leads to fat city.

The day formula is designed to increase metabolic rate and improve energy.  No you will not bounce off the walls, a lot of companies will load products with stimulants so that people will “feel” them working, but in actuality that does not have a direct relationship with fat burning.  An increase in energy will prevent people for seeking out comfort foods and eating out of boredom.  This is a viscous cycle and probably one of the main reasons this population is so overweight.

Now you and a few of your friends conducted a much different kind of experiment recently with the fat reduce can you fill us in?

Yes bonehead- I decided to eat like a pig for a month (and a few friend joined me) while taking the fat reduce to see if it would keep weight off of our frames.  Every year I take a month or so to eat whatever I want and I usually pack on a lot of body fat quickly.  When taking the Fat Reduce no one gained any body fat at all and I have the body comp tests to prove it. 

Did this result surprise you and what does this indicate about the product?

Actually very much so I expected to at least gain some body fat, but despite my best efforts I was not able to deposit any body fat.  In addition to big increases in metabolic rate the study participants also burned more calories from stored fat for energy which is very important when measuring the effectiveness of a fat loss product.    

I assume you monitor your patients for good health during experiments, can anyone use the fat reduce?

No- I cannot make a blanket statement like that, I have not reason to believe the fat reduce would cause a problem for a person in good health, but everyone should check with their own doctor if they have any questions or concerns related to supplement use.

 

 

 

You mention counting calories as a mistake most people make, can you give us some better guidelines to use?

Any diet plan using calorie settings as the primary foundation without considering food choices is doomed before it begins.  Again it goes back to hormones which will determine what the body does- lose fat?- gain muscle?  Food choices, combinations and their timing will determine what hormonal environment will be set into place.  For example is 100 calories of sugar based sweets going to have the same impact as 100 calories worth of lean protein?

Heck no- the sugar will spike insulin and create a fat storage scenario while all things being equal the lean protein can help the body burn more fat as fuel.  I just want people to be conscious of the importance of picking the right foods.  It is much easier to follow a fat loss program for a longer period of time if you are able to eat more food without stalling your progress. My patients never get hungry because they eat large portions of the right foods and are still able to lose fat rapidly.

What are the top reasons why people fail to lose body fat from a strategy stand point?

It seems that very few people have a plan in place and even fewer are willing to stick with the plan for a long enough period to let it work.  Sometimes I have clients tell me a diet is not working after only a week, I tell them to stick with it and after a month or so they see great results.  Your body must build up metabolic momentum; it will not make changes overnight.  You must give any plan at least 4-8 weeks to work and in some situations people will not see any significant results until week 5 which is ok.  A lack of discipline is also problem, people must stay on a plan without cheating every day, when they do this they set themselves back because the body becomes very confused.  A cheat meal every once in a while is ok, but do not sabotage yourself.

It is very difficult for people to be objective when designing a training or diet plan for themselves, they should seek out help from a person with the right expertise.  That is why I send a lot of my patients to you for consult programs because you know what to do and help them implement the programs.

Ok fair enough what is the best diet out there right now?

I like the 0 tolerance plan which I have been using in many variations for over a year now.  My patients and clients use the 100% MR and Muscle Synthesis aminos between meals which makes the brain believe a great deal of food has come into the system to be digested, as a result the brain increases metabolic rate, however there is nothing to burn except stored body fat as the aminos have little to no caloric value.
