 Not another Fad Diet-this one works!

The Zero Tolerance program is working, on Jan 9th I Started and weighed in at 248, today I had a physical and my weight was 237, 11lbs in 10 days (awesome), all in the waistline, 2 belt notches. My Pants are Falling off of me!

Scott I have never been so excited about my pants falling down in my life, seriously they are so loose that even with my belt they slid off while I was on my way out of the locker room at the gym.  I am only willing to admit to a starting weight of 300 pounds a few months ago and a 46 inch waist line. Gaining Muscle and Losing Fat at the Same Time

This Friday will be three weeks on the program.  I have followed it Last weekend, on Saturday I had two large carb-up meals and I will have another one this Friday or Saturday.  I am down net 8 pounds, but the interesting thing is that Over the last week, I have lost an inch off my waist, but weight is actually up 1 pound.  SO I am gaining muscle and losing fat at the time- very pleased.

I could not be any happier with my progress

Hi Scott. My training is going well. I have already lost 6 pounds since the 1st of March. SO I couldn't be happier, just about 15 more to go. All the products that I am taking are working out well, it took a little getting used to but its ok now. The diet is working out well and i have not cheated once! Will the Body Fat I lose stay off?

 Yes it will stay off, the 0 tolerance plan will not cause the dreaded yoyo dieting problem.  Metabolism stays fresh throughout the process as fat storing hormones such as cortisol are kept to a minimum because of proper supplementation and an avoidance of under eating.  The yoyo problem most often comes into play when the body fights back following an extended period of under eating.  0 tolerance includes three square low carb meals per day with an abundance of amino acids; as a result the body creates a deficit of calories, but never becomes under nourished.  you must ensure your long term success by maintaining a sensible nutrition and exercise program.

While just about any diet can produce fat loss over the first 2 weeks, most stall out pretty quickly following 4 weeks or more for various reasons.  0  Tolerance is a sensible plan and as a result the body will continue to lose body fat over several months without a reason to gain it back when you transition off of the 0 tolerance plan.

Fat burners are optional on this plan so how is fat burned at rapid rates?

 Energy levels are a function of many things- attitude for one is a forgotten factor, but those who feel good about their efforts have a better bounce to their step.  Under eating is the biggest culprit for low energy or fluctuating blood sugar levels.  Steady low carb, high protein and fiber meals keep blood sugar balanced through the day.  Amino Loading (100% MR and Muscle Synthesis between meals) also contribute to proper blood sugar levels.  Consider 100% MR as a 0 carb/calorie sports drink; as it provides alternative energy sources for the body to use as fuel without interfering with the body’s fat burning.

Can I use a bar or shakes to replace a meal?

No the 3 meals must consist of real food.  The body is forced to expend a lot of energy to digest food; especially high protein meals.  Shakes and bars can spike blood sugar as most contain sweeteners that cause more havoc than good all sugar.  If in a pinch eat a serving or two of deluxe mixed nuts ( no peanuts) instead of a meal. 

 How can I get a gram per pound of protein in only three meals if I am 200 pounds?

 Use your lean body mass pounds to determine how much protein. For example a person at 10% body fat would have 180 lean pounds needing 180g of protein per day.  Yes that is a lot over three meals, but many of my clients have no problem doing this.  You can use a whey based shake 30 minutes after training if you like to add 50 grams of protein to your daily intake, making it easier to get your total protein in during the day.

 Will I keep my lean Muscle Mass while using this plan?

 Yes absolutely you will keep your lean body mass, you may actually increase your lean muscle while using 0 tolerance if you train correctly.  I was pretty surprised when several of my clients put on significant amounts of muscle during the first month of the 0 tolerance plan.  Typically this is impossible to do during a fat loss plan, but the consistent supply of protein and amino acids provide the raw materials needed for growth throughout the day and night.  Most fat loss plans eat away at muscle as there is a deficit of food available, Amino Loading between meals protects muscle by providing a strong flow of amino acids for the body to use instead.

 Why are the carbs cycled every 2 weeks?

Dr. Serrano experimented with many different carb strategies using this plan and he found that this particular cycle worked best.  The carbs help to boost anabolic hormones following a 2 week period without any carbs.  This is done to increase metabolic rate and perhaps increase training performance by making some glucose available to burn as fuel. 

What kind of training program should I use while on the 0 Tolerance System?

I have always had problems with hunger during fat loss plans, does the amino loading lower appetite?  What about cravings?
